Hunger Free Vermont Wins $100,000 Challenge Grant from Jane's Trust

We are thrilled to announce that on June 1st, 2012 Hunger Free Vermont was awarded a $100,000 Challenge Grant from Jane's Trust.  Jane’s Trust seeks to make grants to organizations working to support underserved or vulnerable populations.

From June 1, 2012 to June 1, 2013 all new donors to Hunger Free Vermont will have their donations matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2000.  Also, current donors who increase their giving to the organization or who resume giving after having not given in the past year will have their donation matched up to $2000.

There will be many opportunities throughout the year to support the work of Hunger Free Vermont.  Starting this month, Hunger Free Vermont is recruiting volunteers for their new Ambassador Program which will help expand advocacy efforts and food programs throughout the state and includes a fundraising component.  Also, in the fall Hunger Free Vermont will host their 16th annual Hike for Hunger which will take place at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston on September 22nd and Grafton Ponds in Grafton on October 13th.  The challenge grant from Jane’s Trust will match all pledges for the hike that meet the grant criteria.  More information on how to support Hunger Free Vermont’s programs and have your donation matched by Jane’s Trust is available on their website at: www.hungerfreevt.org.

Hunger Free Vermont will only receive the full Jane's Trust grant if we are successful at raising an additional $100,000 this year.  We need the help of the whole community to meet this challenge which will help grow our programs and continue our vital work in VT.  Please help us by making a gift this year, and if you can, increasing your gift by any amount to have your donation matched.

Thank you all so much for your support and helping us meeting this important challenge.  Also, special thanks to Jane's Trust for helping us build support for this work!
