Our 17th Annual Hike for Hunger is Tomorrow

With upcoming cuts to 3SquaresVT (food stamps) on November 1st, coupled with $40 billion cuts to the program passed in the House version of the Farm Bill last week, many already struggling Vermonters have tough times ahead. Tomorrow, at the 17th Annual Hike for Hunger, over 150 community members will rally to stand in solidarity with the food insecure in their communities and show their support for Hunger Free Vermont’s work to end the injustice of hunger and malnutrition in our state.

We look forward to welcoming families, students, businesses, and concerned community members to join us and make a difference. So far, with support from individuals and businesses, we have already raised over $18,000. Tomorrow we expect hikers to bring more donations that they have collected over the last 6 weeks.

The Hike will be at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston at 10:45 (check-in at 9:30) and will consist of a 3 mile or 1.5 mile hike option, followed by a community celebration (11:30am-1pm) including live bluegrass music and wood-fired pizza. Additionally, Evolution Physical Therapy and Yoga will provide a warm-up yoga session at 10:15am before the hike begins. Find more details on our website.

If you haven't registered, but would like to attend, you are welcome to register at the event tomorrow! Registration is $25. We hope to see you there!
