Kids Day in Burlington: Let’s Celebrate Our Youth

Kids Day is a Burlington tradition that dates back almost 30 years to 1986. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 10th and is an opportunity for kids and families to come together at Battery Park to enjoy food, fun and events celebrating the youth in our community.

The day will get started at 9:30 AM with a parade from Edmunds Middle School through beautiful downtown Burlington, down to Battery Park. Activities will be on offer from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, including free meals for all kids 18 and under! This is made possible by the Burlington School Food Project, which will have its food truck on site to serve all kids tasty, nutritious meals. Thanks to the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), meals like the one on Kids Day will be available free of charge all summer long at nine sites all across the city – a great way to keep kids fueled up for learning and play when school is out!

This event is free of charge and open to all. You can expect an exciting mix of up to 5,000 participants at Vermont’s largest children’s festival, with over 100 performers, 1500 parade participants, 75 businesses, 60 school and service organizations, 50 volunteers and 50 contributors. Come join us as we celebrate Burlington’s youth and support the great programs of Burlington Parks and Recreation – it’s going to be a great day!
