I am headed back to Vermont today after a successful visit to our nation's capital. Our team was able to network with hundreds of anti-hunger leaders from across the country over the last three days. My meeting at the White House was interesting and engaging. There is without a doubt a strong commitment at the highest levels to work with the anti-hunger community to solve the nation's hunger and malnutrition problem. Today, Hunger Free Vermont staff met with leaders at the USDA to discuss our state programs and make plans to work on program expansion, and I met with Vermont's Congressional Delegation who are all wonderful champions for nutrition programs.
