Ellen Teller from FRAC shares her perspective on anti-hunger
programs and outreach with VT's state leaders
This week we were thrilled to host Ellen Teller, Director of Government Affairs from the Food Research and Action Center and Stephanie Ettinger de Cuba, Research and Policy Director from Children's Health Watch at Hunger Free Vermont. On Wednesday we hosted a policy round table to glean their perspectives on Vermont's anti-hunger work. At the table was the Hunger Free Vermont team, staff from our Congressional Delegation, state administrators, UVM researchers, non-profit leaders, and staff from Governor Shumlin's office. Ellen and Stephanie shared new perspectives to make program advancements in VT. Many at the table went away with a full list of action steps! We are grateful to have strong national partners to support our work in ending hunger in all communities. VT is leading the way in many of our anti-hunger programs, but there is always more we can do to ensure the 1 in 7 Vermonters who are food insecure have the resources they need to feed themselves and their families on a daily basis.
